Historical Tokyo tour itinerary
We will start the day in Ueno, where we will first walk through market street Ameyoko to Ueno Park, which is full of historical sites that your guide will tell you all about. You will get an understanding of Japanese history while walking in a greener part of town, taking in the sights that are easy to miss if you don’t know where to look.
Finally, we will walk through the famous Yanaka cemetery, where your guide will tell you more about Japanese funeral traditions. Behind the cemetery lies the beautiful neighborhood Yanesen, which has largely been spared in the Second World War, making it a great place to spot many small temples and old houses.
Modern Tokyo tour itinerary
Our next destination is Nakano, where your guide will give you a peek at some of Tokyo’s most interesting subcultures in a mall that manages to retain its strong 70s-90s vibe.
The last stop will either be in Harajuku or Shibuya, you can choose according to your interests. The guide will show you all the most interesting spots and advice you on how to enjoy the area for the rest of the afternoon.
You can check out the photos of the places you will visit during the tour by looking at the gallery at the bottom of this page or visiting our FB page: click here.
The tour departs from the address of your Tokyo accommodation, which you provide when booking the tour. If you are coming from Osaka or Kyoto, your guide can go and pick you up from Tokyo Station.
Usually, we start at 9:30 AM or 10 AM but if you would like to start at a later time, just let us know!

Means of transport
Public transportation: A combination of trains or taxis can be used to get from one tourist spot to another. Please note that these fees are not included in the tour package. If only trains are used around 700 yen per person would be needed.
Our guides will be happy to suggest restaurants during lunch time and also places where you can buy snacks and drinks along the way (these expenses are not included in the tour package and are estimated to be around 1,000 to 1,500 yen per person).
The tour ends in Harajuku or Shibuya, depending on your last stop of the tour. The guide can either bring you to the closest station with an explanation of how to go back to your hotel from there, or you can choose to stay in the area by yourself for longer.
